How can I use a blog professionally?
An idea I am thinking about is using a blog to communicate with and get feedback from other math instructors/and or parents. I believe that blogging could be a good avenue to "reach out" to both share and receive ideas that are new avenues of instructing. The intent would be to share problems/solution type information as well as probe for new instructional approaches to math-see what's working for others. The biggest asset I can see to this is learning from other professionals' experiences.
My biggest question at this moment is how reliable will a blog prove to be? Will teachers be "on-board" with checking my blog? Will the effect of having the tool to blog really be different than texting, emailing, and or calling since these forms of communicating are already in place? What do I, as an instructor, need to do differently so that my peers will want to blog with me?
